Jim Helmer, Director of the San Jose Department of Transportation, and Matt Nichols, Principal Transportation Planner with the City of Berkeley, gave presentations on both cities' efforts to implement energy-saving "green mobility" measures for transportation. ITE International Vice President Paul Eng-Wong gave a speech regarding various ITE initiatives. UC Berkeley students Mariana Parreiras and Marin Odioso reported on the resurgence of a bona fide ITE Student Chapter at UC Berkeley and asked ITE members to contribute to the Section's Student Outreach program. Ray Davis immediately volunteered to help! Simin Timuri announced that her ITE white paper on Sustainable Transportation is now available for review and comments at http://www.sfbayite.org. Jia Hao Wu announced the upcoming Transportation Modeling All Day Workshop and Vendor's Night with the ITE Northern California Section in Lodi on March 19. Rachel Donovan wore her "Sustainable is the New Black" T-shirt for the occasion and invited everyone to submit technical articles for publication in the WesternITE, and to submit job announcements for jobs page at http://www.sfbayite.org.
